Welcome! Bienvenue!

Beaconsfield United Church is a community of faith in the United Church of Canada. We gather to explore and grow in our faith, and to share in community and fellowship. We are a justice-seeking congregation which strives to stand against all forms of oppression and is called to service in our community and the wider world.
BUC is an Affirming Ministry which welcomes and values members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
BUC is an intercultural community that does not tolerate racism and stands against white supremacy.

Beaconsfield United Church is situated within the traditional and unceded territories of the Kanien’keha:ka, also known as the Mohawk, first nation. They have long been the keepers of this land and of sacred teachings handed down through generations. As a church, it is important to us to acknowledge the role the United Church of Canada has played in the oppression of Indigenous peoples. Acknowledging the land we occupy is one part of making a commitment to live respectfully with the original inhabitants of this land, and to support their ongoing struggle against the harms done by colonialism. We encourage you to take some time today (and every day) to reflect on your relationship with the land you live on and the indigenous communities of that area.

One way that we can take tangible action to address the harms colonialism has inflicted on Indigenous peoples is to contribute to the Healing Fund, which provides grants to support healing initiatives in Indigenous communities to address the ongoing impacts of the residential school system.
